Vancouver Physiotherapy - Jericho Sports and Orthopaedic Physio Therapy in Vancouver, BC, Canada
Frequently Asked Questions What is Physiotherapy and how does it help?
Physiotherapy keeps you moving by promoting optimal health and mobility.
Physiotherapy:
is primary health care (doctor’s referral is not necessary
in B.C.)
is a non-intrusive, cost-effective choice for managing your health
helps to identify, alleviate, correct and prevent acute or prolonged pain or movement dysfunction
encourages your independence through patient education
helps you achieve your highest level of physical functioning (at any stage of life) by providing you with a personalised treatment plan based on your specific needs.
The physiotherapists at Jericho are university-educated
manual therapists with over 65
years of combined clinical experience. We
assess
and treat a wide range of conditions - whether
it’s back or neck pain, pelvic imbalance,
shoulder or arm restrictions, knee or leg
problems, sports injuries, headaches, T.M.J.,
soft tissue injuries, postural concerns and
much more.
In fact, physiotherapy can be a key component in maintaining your health in addition to treating specific conditions. At Jericho Physiotherapy, we focus on injury prevention and encourage you to be a part of your own healing process.
What can I expect on my initial visit?
During the initial visit, the physiotherapist will ask questions about the history of the condition, assess the current problem, perform a physical examination, provide a physical diagnosis, outline a treatment protocol and provide the first treatment. We encourage you to ask questions so that you understand how physiotherapy will help and how you can be an active participant in your own rehabilitation and prevention.

your specific needs, so we make sure that ‘your scheduled appointment is your time’.
This means that you can expect one-on-one evaluation, education and treatment

Who covers the fee for physiotherapy treatments?
The cost for treatment has been a private fee for the client since January 1, 2002, when physiotherapy was de-listed from the B.C. Medical Services Plan. The private fee may be fully or partly covered by your Extended Health Benefits Plan, so check your policy for specific details.
There are reduced Private Fee rates for Seniors and those clients who are eligible for Premium Assistance (M.S.P.).
We treat clients with I.C.B.C. claims if your coverage is approved, active and you can provide the necessary documentation. Please refer to our rates for more information.
