Pan American Racquetball Championships
Caracas, Venezuela March 19-27, 2005


Bob recently returned from the 18th Pan American Racquetball Championships where he provided physiotherapy coverage for the Canadian team. The Canadian team consisted of 8 players (4 women & 4 men), 2 coaches, 3 officials and the team therapist.
This event is held annually for North, South and Central American Countries. This year, the tournament featured players from 15 countries including the U.S.A., Mexico, Bolivia, Chile, and the host nation, Venezuela. Players compete for Men’s and Women’s singles and doubles titles. There is also a team competition for the Men’s team, Women’s team and Overall team trophy based on the singles and doubles results.
Canada won a silver medal in the Men’s Doubles event (Mike Green & Brian Istace) and a bronze medal in the Men’s singles event (Corey Osbourne). The Men’s team placed 3rd and the Canadian team placed 3rd in the Overall Team trophy.
